Pochita's most terrifying power is the ability to consume devils and completely erase them (along with humanity's memories of them) from reality. In the context of the Hope theory, this implies he is an entity that rids the world of absolute despair and existential dread to grant a peaceful reality.
He is viewed by some as the ultimate manifestation of hope because he appears in humanity's darkest hours and is the only force capable of defeating absolute horrors like the four horsemen
In the final chapters, Pochita consumes himself to reset the timeline, rewriting reality into a "paradise" to rescue Denji from eternal suffering. Because chainsaws still exist after he eats himself, fans realized he was never actually the Chainsaw Devil, further fueling theories that he embodies hope or oblivion.
Despite being the most feared devil in Hell, his deepest wish was simply to be hugged and to experience normal human connections. He exists to help those who have nothing left, serving as a beacon of hope for Denji, who started as the most hopeless character in the series.
