If a young woman is walking along a road in the hills alone, why are all the men driving by honking their horns and stopping to say hello?

But you wouldn't know that because Sicilian women don't do that, only tourists who don't know better do that. I know somebody who once did that once. Her two aunts finally found her and they were going ballistic because they said how dare she do that because only prostitutes walk the roads alone. All those men that my friend thought were so friendly honking their horns and saying hello actually thought she was a prostitute and they were trying to pick her up. She was lucky she didn't get hurt by one of them.

My friend is a Italian-American, Sicilian to be specific. She took a trip to Italy alone once and stayed with relatives in the family hometown. She decided to take a nice long walk one day by herself. Do you know what a putana is? Proper respectable Sicilian women do not walk the streets alone. Only putanas do. Those men were trying to pick her up. If she got approached by a guy that wouldn't take no for an answer, she could have gotten raped. And as you already very well know in the courts of Italy, they would have just said she was asking for it. Because if she wasn't a putana, she shouldn't have been walking around like one.

Do not begin to try to pretend to tell me that you do not know your own culture.

For crying out loud, try watching some Italian movies. There's always always a scene where a guy is smacking the shit out of a woman. Always. They treat their women like crap over there. In fact, according to a poll several years ago, Italy is the only country in the world where more women claim to cheat on their men than men claim to cheat on the women. The only country. In the world. They say they're meant a great flirts, really romantic, but that's where it ends, they don't care for them otherwise.
