So what I don't understand is today's generation can receive a free college education in highschool funded by local tax payers in some very privileged school districts. Also the amount of fasa funding increased the wages the parents can earn so their child can receive federal school funding and special loans. Which for one the fasa is a piece of crap for requiring parents income disclosure on students who imancipated themselves out of the house and work a full time job in highschool while filling their own taxes. That info should be void for students imancipated and non reliant on parents for living.. back in my day parents said your out of the house kid, figure it out. Then when the paperwork was set, a blue collar family made to much money for their kid to receive fasa funding which was like 35k back in the day, today its 54k est the kicker is that single parents have the advantage of making 70k and the child will get better funding.... But anyways I digress you couldn't be a college student without being bombarded with mail advertising for private student loans back in the day and if you didn't qualify for federal funding you got screwed into believing a private student loan would be paid from a failed attempt at education, or a slime ball degree from a sub par school. Then there you are 56 years old with 5 more private student loan payments to go. The kicker most require a co singer and no federal government regulations or oversite to the stop the sneaky bas tard s from the fact that a majority of unsecured private student loans conned the students into needing a cosigner because the private loans are uninsured so if and when a student dies and still owes a balance, they will get it paid by the cosigner one way or another.
