Brainrot was extremely popular on the old internet too? Think Annoying Orange, Badger Dance, skits like Ryan Higa and Tomska, etc. I'd even argue the only reason we don't see earlier brainrot is because the internet preserves EVERYTHING, and nobody bothered to preserve it beforehand. But it's certainly interesting to think about, brainrot over the generations
