Stories can be more influential than you think. All of the movies, books, video games, tv shows, cartoons (and, of course, comics) that we enjoy can also give us real life lessons that we incorporate into our daily lives.
But there are some stories that, sometimes unintentionally, sometimes not, give out the wrong kind of lessons, as showcased in this comic.
Basically the message with the story here is this: In order to be special, you have to be related to "special" people. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Not only is this kind of a problematic lesson, it's also very boring writing for the story; I think anyone should be able to have magic powers, regardless if they follow a magical bloodline or not.
