God didn't tear the veil of the temple at the moment of Jesus death to install another go between. Jesus died, not to create a new religion, but to recreate a relationship with His creation. He didn't create the Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist, Baptist, etc. Religion, every organized religion is man's doing.
