You know, I feel like Pest Sprout becoming blessed could lead to an idea for a small arc in the series:
Pest Sprout causes trouble for everyone living in the Questwood and the Dream Village, and is threatened with being attacked if he doesn't "change". Pest Sprout assumes that he has to completely change himself, and goes to the Blessed Mountain to bless himself again. He then obsessively tries to be as "good" and "perfect" as possible, becoming a people-pleaser and disregarding his mental health in the process.
While everyone else exploits Pest Sprout, Quest Sprout and Momma Sprout recognize that he doesn't want to be blessed and instead wants to be himself again, but is worried that he'll be attacked if he goes back to normal. Momma Sprout tells him that he doesn't have to completely change himself; he just has to change some of his ways. She also tells him that he doesn't have to be a people-pleaser in order to be loved, and that he shouldn't let people take advantage of him. With his newfound confidence, Pest Sprout shakes off the blessing, embraces who he is as a person, and becomes more empathetic to people while setting boundaries with them.
It'd be a nice lesson about being considerate of others while also being considerate of yourself; It's good to be nice to others, but that doesn't mean you should completely abandon yourself for them.
You can see how I'm trying to make it a neutral situation; Pest Sprout wants to be himself, but also cause trouble. Everyone else wants him to change for the better, but will exploit him if possible. Both are right, both are wrong. In the end, a solution is found so that both parties can get the good things that they want.
Not a lot of media [that I know of] has this kind of lesson nowadays, and I really do think we could use more of it in these kind of stories.
