When people see a male elephant, they think "oh cool an elephant", and when they see a female one they think "oh cool an elephant". They don't react like this when they see other humans though.

The fact that society is so damn gendered that we use pronouns for inanimate objects (trucks, plants, etc) upsets me. I don’t see why we can use pronouns for a snake plant, but not for a trans person

Yes, but we refer to trucks as “she” and “her”. Romantic languages do have gendered words, but they are still objects

As a French speaker, I can confirm that they use gendering for everything.
So much so that even after many years of learning the language I STILL get some of them mixed up with the sheer amount of exceptions there are, lol!
