While Kargob, Argok, and Baltad created Godswords only, Greg and Bograk created guardians to protect theirs.
The series establishes that Lake Queen was attacked, with Greg's Godsword being stolen from her. It's never explained how Bograk's Godsword went from Momma Sprout to the hands of King Hilton, who would give it to Joyeuse on her 5th birthday*, but I can imagine what happened:
Perhaps when Quest Sprout was born, Momma Sprout had to alternate between protecting him and the sword. Then one day, Quest Sprout was in serious danger, with Momma deciding to give up protecting the sword so that she could fully protect him.**

**It'd be realistic for her to value life, especially that of her son, over a sword that can always be reforged.
If the sword was physically with her, maybe she used magic to teleport it somewhere near Hiltshire. If it was being protected in the air from afar, maybe she removed the protection spell it was under, causing it to fall and land near Hiltshire. Then Hilton found it and decided that it'd be a great birthday present for Joyeuse, who, despite her best efforts, would fail to become the Light Champion. This would cause Bograk to presumably die alongside Kargob after they were eaten by the Demon King.
Can you imagine how heartbroken Momma Sprout would be upon hearing that Bograk, her god and father, had died? I can imagine this causing her fear of losing Quest Sprout to become worse, since he's the only other person in her family.
