A few years ago, we went to my grandma’s house and she gave us a bunch of stuff. She had soooooo many coins, and it took us (family of 4 + her) at least a full day to sort it, and I don’t think we even got through it all
Every so often you hear about a huge number of coins being unearthed accidentally when someone is looking for some other artifact. Especially in an undersea environment. I just read that they estimate that over $68 million in change is thrown away or lost every year just in the U.S. alone. I wish I could find some of that loot, lol. 🤑
1 of my daughters and I have metal detected since about '80 (finally got hubby interested about 6 or 7 yrs ago) and between the 3 of us, we average about $650-700 a yr in clad coins and close to $3k a yr in silver and jewelry. 💰
Wow… that’s excellent. That’s added up to some serious $$$ over the years. The most money I’ve ever found at one time was when I found a $5 bill on the ground when I was a kid walking around my neighborhood. 😁
