you see, Loss is a meme where the comic was about a miscarriage, it was a very sudden shift in tone for the series, so everyone made memes about it

Usually, Everyone uses the simplified version (the one with sticks and the meme page rn) as a way to make a reference to the original comic and has become recognizable as the "Loss Image"

Furthermore, the punchline could be classified as Dark Humor as its ultimately about a miscarriage that the guy went to see his wife in the hospital

Mostly the shift in tone is that the comic series was mostly about gaming puns and jokes with gaming fanactics so seeing a comic about a miscarriage made everyone make memes about it since it didn't correlate to the comic series' theme at all
