I'm glad things are going well for you, but you can't expect your kids to believe everything they read or everything they hear. Some things must be seen to be believed, and not all things can be safely or legally or practically seen up close and in person. For example, everyone should see how fast fire can spread so that they know not to fool around with fire. Just telling people "fire spreads real fast" might not be enough to convince them.
