What I find very strange is that Quest Sprout and the Sword-Breathing Dragon are seen in Boundless Hunger's recap episode, yet they legit skedaddled when Quest Sprout got scared by him as the Demon King:
If I remember correctly, the dragon did help Bread Knight on his journey earlier on in the series, so I can imagine the latter being like "Really, dude!?" upon seeing him and Quest Sprout leave LOL
