Kafka flinched slightly, and Kikoru stepped in front of Kronos. "He's not a THING. He's our teammate. Idiot."



Reno nodded. "He's a good guy."



"I... I'm not a Kaiju. " Kafka said. "I can just... become one."



"Because he 'accidentally' ate one." Kikoru finger quoted, Kafka sputtering again.



"IT WAS AN ACCIDENT!!"

Kafka let out a VERY nervous laugh, raising his arms. "I swear, I hate Kaiju as much as you!"



Kikoru huffed loudly. "Listen, I don't like him much either. But... he saved my life. So I guess he's okay."



Reno nodded. "He saved mine as well, before he had the ability to turn into a Kaiju."

Reno flinches back, and Kafka returns to his Kaiju form, grabbing Kronos's arm. "Don't. They're not supposed to be involved in this."



Kikoru's eye twitches, and she sighed. "Kafka, you're gonna get reported for this, you know. We should just dispose of him."



"No!" Kafka snapped. "He's still our teammate." 



He stepped back, turning human again. "Listen... you don't have to like me, but please... don't tell anyone."



Kikoru nodded. "Just say yes or he'll start begging on his knees."



"That was ONE TIME."



"Twice, sir."

"No, he's not. We got into an accident while cleaning up a Kaiju's body, seeing as we used to be in the Kaiju Disposal Service, and when we were in the hospital, well..."



Kafka grumbled something about a tiny parasitic Kaiju flying down his throat. 



Reno sighed, nodding. "It's... a whole thing."

Kafka flushed slightly at the compliment. "Me? Stronger than- nooo, you're flattering me!"

"Fine... you guys win..." He grumbled, crossing his arms. "So... you're not gonna tell Vice Captain Hoshina, right?" He turned back to Kronos, a nervous edge to his voice.

Kafka straightened up, nodding. "Yeah. Explain it to him." With that, he turned back into Kaiju No 8 and jumping to another building, speeding out of sight. Reno sighed under his breath.

"Sir, be careful, you might get caught looking like that." (Reno)

Looking around the corner, there's a little blue flash of light, and he noticed... a Kaiju there. An incredibly powerful one. An it was just standing next to Reno and Kikoru.



Kikoru crossed her arms. "You're lucky I've decided you're not a danger, or I'd exterminate you immediately."



The Kaiju grinned. "You wouldn't. You love me!"

Kikoru glared. "He's better, or there's gonna be a suspiciously him-shaped blood splatter on the concrete."



The Kaiju gaped. "YOU CAN'T DO THAT!!"

Kronos's backstory: when Kronos was a teen, he'd love spending time with his brother, always together, Kronos would always ride his brother on a 2 seated bicycle a few blocks around town, one winter as he and his brother were leaving the house, he told his little brother to go back to the house and get some gloves, as his little brother was on the porch he waved back to Kronos, smiling, when his little brother walked in, a massive, winged kaiju flew over, wings so big that it basically tore the house to shreds, with his little brother, mother, and father inside it, leaving Kronos, as an orphan
