You're correct if past leaders started this war a month ago. In reality, the present Commander in Chief and Minister of War (or whatever Pete calls himself now) were the ones who initiated the offensive. Yes, whether the war is to remove the Epstein Files from the news cycle with this war could be causation or coincidence (but Trump accused Obama of wanting to start a war with Iran if his term didn't go well).

Without a draft, the United States will lose this war. It will either be an early bow out with heavy concessions including handing over the rights to a massive boat toll for the Strait or a prolonged involvement that will outlast Trump's years on this earth. An old school land war was something that Iraq with more troops couldn't succeed in, and we don't have enough soldiers to cover a mountainous country that is 1/6th the size of the United States.
