The great golden age of capital construction brought about by the great leadership

Amidst the day-to-day transformation of Pyongyang under the leadership of the great Party Central Committee, our people are welcoming the day the struggle to build 50,000 residential units in Pyongyang City has begun.

Respected Comrade Kim Jong Un made the construction of 50,000 residential units in Pyongyang a policy at the 8th Party Congress, organized and led the construction campaigns that unfolded year after year, and ushered in a great golden age of capital construction.

On March 23, 2021, the respected General Secretary Comrade personally attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 10,000 residential units in Pyongyang and expressed his conviction that through the construction of 50,000 residential units, we will not only transform the appearance of the capital once again but also open up a new era of progress and dynamism in which we confidently elevate and develop socialist construction step by step.

The respected General Secretary Comrade led the entire capital construction project to become the main offensive front symbolizing a new high-intensity and period of upheaval in socialist construction.

During the period from Songhwa Street to the construction of 10,000 residential units in the fourth phase of the Hwasong district, the respected General Secretary Comrade visited the site more than 10 times and devoted his heart and labor to ensuring that our Party’s architectural concept of prioritizing the people was realized in each and every building.

The number of drafts personally completed by the respected General Secretary Comrade alone amounts to thousands.

Under the energetic leadership of the respected General Secretary , a miraculous construction legend was created one after another in the construction of 50,000 residential units in Pyongyang.

In just one year, Songhwa Street emerged as the first tangible entity, featuring over 160 high-rise and high-rise residential buildings, public buildings, and service networks.

The construction of a loft-style housing complex on the banks of the Botong River has established an excellent standard and model for housing complexes in our country.

The local construction workers completed the first phase of housing construction in the Hwaseong district within one year and unfolded a scene of new housewarming unique to our country.

In 2024, the construction of 10,000 residential units and the construction of the Hwaseong District Phase 2 were successfully completed.

Modern high-rise and high-rise residential buildings and distinctive commercial and food service bases have risen up in the Hwaseong district, marking the third celebration of completion.

With the completion of the 4th phase 10,000-household residential complex and Saebyeol Street in February 2026, which brilliantly concluded the struggle for the final stage of the Five-Year Plan for Capital Construction, the Hwasong District has been transformed into a modern administrative district and has come to shine even brighter as a symbol and synonym for the new miracle of the indomitable Socialist Korea, alongside the great Kim Jong Un era .
