Do you remember the Chechen rebels who were fighting against the Russians in the late 1990s/early 2000’s?
And those wonderful Chechen refugee/immigrants who exploded the bomb at the Boston marathon?

The press kept calling them “Chechen rebels”, when in actuality they were radical Islamist Muslims who don’t want to be governed by secular infidel governments.

Putin eventually decided to stop fighting them and gave control of Chechnya to Ramzan Kadyrov, although it is still part of Russia.

At one point Kadyrov sent a bunch of soldiers to Ukraine to fight for Russia. Apparently there was some security breach and they got whacked by the Ukrainians pretty bad.
