I attempted to make this timeless by showing a plane dropping bombs but not showing where the bombs were landing. You are free to decide where the bombs are landing. Yes, many bombs land in war zones. But many military forces also have bombing ranges, large areas of the desert with abandoned tanks and/or buildings as targets.
The Amelia Bedeila character is from a series of children's books written by Peggy Parish (and later continued by Herman Parish). She's a woman who interprets instructions too literally. If you tell her to "draw the curtains", instead of closing the curtains, she'll draw a picture of the curtains for you.
