I think that it is supposed to be the opposite. I think it’s supposed to mock religions that don’t support LGBQ+ people and family’s who don’t support their LGBQ+ family members.
If you ask me (I know, no one has asked me), it's about how you tell yourself that you are safe, but soon you realize that basically everyone's against you. Not homophobic, but mocking how support isn't really available to many of us.
