While we're on the subject, I find it very pathetic how people on social media take comics the wrong way, and immediately resort to slamming the artist(s) in every way they can, sometimes to the point of doxing them or sending them death threats. I've seen a few instances of this on Reddit and Twitter. Not only is it messed up, but it also drowns out the people who politely give genuine criticism of a comic.
The thing that really makes my blood boil is seeing people go "Hooray! We won!" and "They're gone forever! Haha!" after an artist deactivates their account(s) or stops posting. Like, if you're gonna blame the artist for your lack of media literacy, don't act like you're some kind of saint for cancelling them.
There are some really great artists out there who either took a very long hiatus or stopped making comics all together after gaining all of that backlash. Meanwhile, you've got folks like StoneToss who makes the most bigoted comics ever and he somehow is still active and has a fanbase.
All of it really makes me hate the way social media is, and it really goes to show that we can't have nice things.
