Most Christians who have thought about the matter still see science as theocentric. In fact, the whole of the fine-tuning argument is based on science as proof.
The medieval Church: The Bible teaches man about God and why we exist, to save man. Natural philosophy (science) teaches man about how God's creation works. Both are good and tell the truth as they are both from God.
