Earth is a couple big volcanoes (or an asteroid hit) away from the next Ice Age. Then you’ll definitely want fossil fuels to stay warm.

So it is increasing still just a small amount. The last ice age was about 11F degrees colder then now and that caused most of the earth to be ice so why wouldn't heat have a strong effect too?

20,000 years ago New York City Central Park was covered with 15,000 feet of polar ice cap. That is settled science. Exposed boulders in Central Park bear glacial striations. Are you saying that it all melted because cave men were driving Hummers?

No that was natural warming. If we continue the natural trends of the 20th century we find no heating and some cooling. However this is not the case

Get back to me after reading both the article and these two books: Apocalypse Never by Michael Shellenberger, a former environmental activist and Unsettled by Steve Koonin, a physicist who worked under President Obama, explaining the uncertainties in current climate models and data, challenging the idea of a simple, catastrophic crisis in Earth's future.

There still would be noew its just that we would see on average more heat and less cold

How about this. We've been pumping alot of CO² into the atomsphere. CO² is a greenhouse gas, so it would trap heat. Heating up the planet.

Notice the data before 1880 is not included.

So this just shows that the temperatures are back to where they were before Mt Tambora blew up in 1815 and Mt Tambora erupted in 1883. Temperatures dropped because of both these volcanoes.
