By the time He reached Golgotha, He was unrecognizable.
Nine inch spikes driven through the radial nerve - you know that nerve you hit in your elbow that really hurts. Multiply that pain exponentially when nails are driven through each wrist.
Forced to pull His beaten, bleeding body up the rugged cross, scraping His exposed muscle and sinew past the splintered wood just to continue breathing while God the Father unleashed His wrath upon His Son all to build a bridge back to a relationship with Him for humanity.
Perhaps worst of all, the perfect Creator God who knew no sin was forced to experience each and every sin which all humanity ever committed or ever will commit. Forced to become sin and separate from God the Father.
