Taxpayer-funded mass transit requires 100% of the population to pay for something that less than 10% of the population utilizes. Taxpayer dollars are best spent on things that benefit 100% of the population, such as infrastructure and first responders (military/fire departments/law enforcement).
Nothing is truly free in this world. If you're not paying for it, someone else is.
