Full hypothetical in the comments (I am autism)

Full hypothetical in the comments (I am autism) | Let's say that, hypothetically, you were the god-emperor of the entire world during the Middle Ages (yes, it still only has Middle Age technology n shit), but you have full authority over it. Right now, all over the world, there are wars, famines, diseases, political extremism, mental insanity, suicides, torture, riots, slavery, human trafficking, dangerous predators, even climate change (for some reason), and pretty much every other horrible problem you could think ever that plagues humanity. People dying is an extremely common sight, practically unavoidable, and for most people, life is unbearable agony. Not even people in the upper echelons of society are safe from suffering, the only people that are safe are you, and enough people will survive so that your kingdom is still (barely) maintained and humanity still lives on. Humanity as a whole will continue to be living under constant crisis, and this will continue on for hundreds of years of not millennia, and there is seemingly no way to solve this. The world population is expected to reduce by at least 95% by the time this is all over. But then, in the middle of all this, aliens living in a type 4 civilization (multi-galaxy level) have suddenly come down to Earth in hopes of negotiating with you. It turns out that your planet is abundant in an element called Elementium (real creative name, I know). You're not exactly sure how it can be used, but what you do know is that if you would ever want your species to ever be able to expand beyond your solar system, this is borderline essential. Now, with that knowledge in mind, you have two options: Option A. Agree to allow the aliens to harvest all of your Elementium, and in exchange, they will restructure the world in which it guarantees every human currently living and every human that will ever live will have a decent life at the very least, also solving every problem humanity has. It will harvest the element in a way that leaves zero geological impact. However, humanity is guaranteed to be trapped within the borders of its home solar system forever, as expanding beyond it will be rendered basically impossible. You must also give up your crown and live under the new, fair, and democratic system the aliens have set up to ensure a comfortable life for every single human being. They will also leave Earth completely alone afterwards, and let humanity choose its own direction now that all of their problems have been solved. Option B: Refuse to let the aliens harvest your Elementium. They will respect your wishes entirely and leave your entire galaxy alone, but humanity remains plagued with its many problems. This does not guarantee that humanity will one day expand across the galaxy, but it at least leaves that option open. In fact, humanity might even have the potential to rival the original Type 4 aliens if it plays its cards right in the future millions of years later, and has the potential to make their civilization immortal. In this scenario, you also get to keep your crown, but you are not guaranteed to be able to hold onto it, as revolts could topple your kingdom over (and if they do, the rebels will most likely be *very* creative while executing you). And in case you do, when you die, the world will split into different countries again due to the power vacuum left behind, and your children will unable to become god-emperor. Not even people in the upper echelons of society are safe from suffering, the only people that are safe are you. Enough people will survive so that your kingdom is still (barely) maintained and humanity still lives on after all of this. Humanity as a whole will continue living under constant crisis, and this will continue on for hundreds of years, if not, millennia, and there is seemingly no way to solve this on your own. Option A: Agree to allow the aliens to harvest all of your Elementium, and in exchange, they will restructure the world in which it guarantees every human currently living and every human that will ever live will have a decent life at the very least, also solving every problem humanity has. It will harvest the element in a way that leaves zero geological impact. However, humanity is guaranteed to be trapped within the borders of its home solar system forever, as expanding beyond it will be rendered basically impossible without Elementium. You must also give up your crown and live under the new, fair, and democratic system the aliens have set up to ensure a comfortable life for every single human being. The aliens will also memory wipe everyone so that they don't remember that you were god-emperor.

In fact, humanity might even have the potential to rival the afforementioned aliens if it plays its cards right in the future millions of years later, and is able to make their civilization immortal. In this scenario, you also get to keep your crown, but you are not guaranteed to be able to hold onto it, as revolts could still topple your kingdom over (and if they do, you're probably not getting out alive). And in case you do, when you die, the world will split into different countries again due to the power vacuum left behind, and your children will unable to become god-emperor like you were.

It's also worth noting that no one will know this negotiation had ever occurred except you and the aliens.

What if elementium is just salt and im like "sure but like you gotta get it all by hand without any tech"
0 ups, 6h
If elementium was hypothetically salt, and they'd have to harvest it by hand, then they'd just genetically engineer themselves to have really big and precise hands and harvest all of the salt in the world within the timespan of a dozen seconds.

Also, I'm pretty sure humans can't live without salt.
