He brought his own permit gun to the demonstration. He was armed
Law requires as a permit holder you cannot attend demonstrations with your gun...he had no business bringing it.
And don't 'f' with law enforcement while you're there.
Kyle also had his gun taken away afterwards, because he violated the same rule.
