POV: You are reading the story, but you don’t understand why Kojiro looks like a senior before finals:
NARRATOR:
“If you see an eight-year-old boy reading Grey’s Anatomy and Kojiro looking like he’s running on exactly three minutes of sleep, an entire coffee pot, and his own willpower, then don’t go near the latter
Why?
Before the disaster in the shop, the night before, Kaito’s parents were…let’s just say that they were noisy.
And Kojiro never recovered cuz he lives closest to Kaito, but Ken was sleeping over, and knew what to do - a weighted blanket and a pair of noise canceling headphones later, Kojiro was back to normal. But he ended up pulverizing his third punching bag that week, skipped his soccer practice that day, and avoided everyone until he had to babysit Kaito, and that’s when the book disaster happened.
Put in this perspective:
POV: Kojiro, talking with the shop owner, Mrs. Fox, about his latest crisis when he sees Kaito in the adult manga section.
*he’s reading a book, but Kojiro recognizes the cover INSTANTLY because it’s actually the “h” word*
Kojiro: “No. NO.
K A I T O
PUT. IT. DOWN!”
Kaito: “It’s for research.”
Kojiro: “YOU’RE EIGHT.”
*Ken enters the shop at that moment and sees Kojiro on the verge of EXPLODING.*
*silence*
*one walk to the nearest junkyard later*
Ken: “Do what you have to.”
Kojiro: *proceeds to destroy three fridges, a car engine, a washing machine, and two radiators before collapsing in a heap from exhaustion*
Ken: ….
*carries Kojiro home in his arms*
*reaches the house and opens the door to find Kojiro’s two little brothers and little sister waiting for him*
Little Brother 1: “Is that your boyfriend?”
Ken: *deadpan* “No.”
Little Sister: “MOM! KOJIRO’S BACK WITH HIS BOYFRIEND!”
Kojiro: *wakes up and blushes furiously* “KEN IS NOT MY BOYFRIEND, YOU HEAR ME?
Little Brother 2: “More like your bodyguard!”
Kojiro’s mother: “Calm down, you three. What Ken did was out of kindness and worry. Plus, your brother is tired and has had a bad day, so he needs some rest. *turns to Ken* “Thank you for bringing my son back home.”
Ken: *blushing a little* “It was nothing!”
*next morning*
Kojiro: *wakes up*
*hears something about Ken being a bodyguard*
*smiles*
“I have a great friend”
So yeah…DO NOT even think of causing another scene.”
