THIS IS NOT HYPOCRISY. IT IS MORAL RELATIVISM. IT IS EXPRESSLY AUTHORITARIAN. THE EASIEST WAY TO THINK OF IT IS IN THE FOLLOWING QUOTE:
“FOR MY FRIENDS, EVERYTHING; FOR EVERYONE ELSE, THE LAW…”; The conditioning stage of authoritarian take over is to get the population used to the idea that if you are with & for the leader, your privileges will be beyond measure & if you are not, the leader will use the law (that’s supposed to apply to everyone) to get back at you until you comply. So, calling this hypocrisy is not productive because it’s a mechanism humans use to deny we’re in as bad of shape as we are actually in. We are long past hypocrisy. This is intentional uneven application of the law to communicate a message. THEY KNOW THEY ARE DOING IT. THEY KNOW IT IS WRONG. THEY KNOW THEY ARE LYING. DO NOT LET THEM GASLIGHT YOU OR MAKE YOU QUESTION WHAT YOU CAN PLAINLY SEE. STAY STRONG.
