The Chavez/Maduro axis "nationalized" the Venezuelan oil industry, confiscating oil production and leases from US based international companies. World courts ruled against Venezuela and ordered payment to the companies which the dictators refused to pay. Over 30,000 Venezuelans lost their oil and gas jobs, contributing to the economic collapse of the country. It also created a brain drain as thousands of highly skilled personnel fled Venezuela. They also nationalized their press and controlled the free flow of information. It's what communists do. Maduro is said to be worth over $700 million, Chavez was worth almost a billion. If you can't earn it, steal it, then blame the corporations for being greedy.
