Captain Comparison: Picard vs. Janeway
Case Study: Tuvix; Janeway doesn't abandon her crew.
She is not afraid to make tough decisions. Picard absolutely would not have done what Janeway did. Picard would have abandoned Tuvok and Neelix to:
1. Avoid making a tough decision.
2. To maintain his self-perceived "moral purity."; Instead of saving Tuvok and Neelix he would make a "pretty speech" to justify abandoning them. Tuvix's right to exist? At the expense of Tuvok and Neelix, he has no such right. This is two members of Janeway's crew being rescued. It is far better to serve under Janeway than Picard. Janeway's decision is not a failure of morality, but a confirmation of it. Loyalty to her crew in action.
