There is only one plausible explanation to what started the world right now. God. Sure, there may be some science which we find later that makes it possible for something to come out of literally nothing within space and time, but the odds don't look good.
The scientists of some of the past were Christian...they didn't do science to try to prove that God doesn't exist, or even that He does, which science does, but to find out the nature of God's creation.
