Imagine how unfathomably big Ton 618 now. Thankfully it's still 10 billion light years away.

Imagine how unfathomably big Ton 618 now. Thankfully it's still 10 billion light years away. | Fun fact! Quasars probably don't even exist anymore as they could only have formed during the early universe when everything was dense enough for supermassive black holes to form which was billions of years ago. Meaning all quasars likely disappeared long before there was life on Earth or perhaps even before Earth formed. Supermassive black holes like Ton 618 and Phoenix A were quasars. And because of how old the images we have of them are from so long ago (5 billion years old for Phoenix A and 10 billion years old for Ton 618) they are at the present moment so much more gigantic then even the images we have of them.
