Frosttale takes place where the magic the humans attempted to use caused the world to enter a perpetual winter. Eventually humans and monsters alike had to go out, seeking warmth to survive the cold. The two main groups that rule over the few “safe” settlements are known as the holy order of the machine, and the militia of the frozen souls.
The holy order of the machine: a religious group that worships the very machines that keep their few settlements alight, believing that each shiver would deliver them deliverance in time.
The militia of the frozen souls: a group that thinks the only way to survive is through brute force and order. And that those who refuse to obey shall face the worst of punishments.
