Inhibitor chips are basically mind control that functions by turning off a large portion of the brain

They turn off everything that gives the pilot free will as well as unnecessary things like the sense of taste

They can't exactly complain about taste anyway since they don't have their own will but it's unnecessary sensory input

Bonus fact(s): enhanced pilots under mind control are fed nutrient slop, which has a similar texture to pudding, but as I mentioned before they can't taste it. Because of this Aurora REALLY dislikes any form of pudding, since it reminds her of her time at the corporation. She doesn't know what the slop tastes like, but she knows what it feels like, and would rather not think about it
