Day 14 : Second day of work

Second Day of work

I wake up this morning and i slept kinda well (considering which hour i started sleeping).

When i arrive at Cultura i go to the locker room, i say hello to my colleages on the way.
I then encounter Marine and she tells me :

Marine : Ah hello Alex ! Leo won’t be with you today cause he had a car accident.

What a way to start a day, btw dont worry, Leo is fine, he just hit a hog. Funny enough, he was supposed to go change his airbag tomorow.
And so I meet Mathew, Leo’s colleage in the Music section.
He’s nice and kind but he is kinda more old than me (i think he’s in his 30’s maybe or i might be totally wrong) so the contact between me and him is somewhat harder compared to me and Leo that is probably 21 or not older than 25 (i learned he his 26). I’m 17 btw.

We did some restocks and some price tagging in the morning.
I helped a old woman choose a set of string for her grandson birthday.
After this we tried our best to maximize space in the pokemon section, and we managed to somehow free up 2 crates (yall don’t know how precious and rare 1 singular empty crate can be in here).
And we also sold a piano (QUOTA REACHED !!!!!!).

BTW yall remember when i talked about quota and all ? We surpassed ourselves yesterday. We did 198.3% (it looks big but the total price we acquired this day was 634€ i think).

I heard 3 times Maria Carey during the morning (HELP MEEEEEEEEEE IM GOING INSANE).
At 2pm it was my lunch break and so i got into the dining room. I ate then i took the book my Aunt offered me and went to wait in the resting room.

When it was time for me to go back to work, i opened the door from the staff space to the store and…
OH MY there is like 7 peoples in the music section.
There was nobody when i leaved.
I close the door directly.
I am brave, but not that brave guys, not that brave.
Friendly reminder that i don’t have a Note (a phone converted into a device that makes you be able to see the store inventory and stuff) which would have helped in this situation, but i had to wait for Matthew to come with me, otherwise i would have disapointed the clients.

We remade a pyramid of dvd boxes and it looked gorgeous in the end.

We were both proud of our work.
At some point someone asked me if we had Bibles in this store, and i honestly forgot the possibility that someone asks for this kind of book. We surprisingly had some.

When we were building the pyramid we obviously had many clients asking us to help them, and at some point a old man approached us and it honestly made my day :

Old man : Excuse me sir uhh…. I’m gonna start with something funny. I lost my wife *chuckles*.

Mathew : Ah *chuckles* well what can i do to help you then.

Old man : Well what i know is that she might be in the electronics section or something, searching for a mic to record herself.

Mathew : Well… Electronics ? Uhh…. *tongue click* well follow me i’ll take you to someone that could help you better than me maybe.

While Mathew took the man with him, i stayed and continued a little the pyramid of dvds, but at some points i didn’t really know what to do, so i looked for him.
When i found him he was leaving the old man on these words :

Old man : You know what don’t worry i think i’ll find her back.

This man was funny tbh.
And like 30 minutes later when we started another section of the pyramid, he came back to us and said :

Old man : I found her !!!!! Don’t worry now, i won’t loose her again !!!

He made my day.

The music section was so busy today, many people tried some instruments, some guys tried everything from the guitars to the harmonicas (i don’t really approve this but whatever). And like after they tried all the stuff in the music section (they were in the music section for an hour i’m deadass) they come to us and they say :

Guy : Uhmm sir pls i would like to know a price pls.

Me : Okay what are you looking for ?

Guy : This *points at an empty price tag of the flutes*

*dead inside*
Just know that they tried almost all the guitars, all the percussions, all the pianos, all kids instruments too (yes, grown ass 19 years olds did this), all this just to buy a flute… that they did not end up buying.

Around the end of my shift, a guy asked to have a book for his daughter that was learning piano but didn’t know a single thing about notes, rhythm and stuff.
This was a hard request.
I tried showing him the book i had when i first started learnig music theory, but he said on a upset tone ‘’nah you see the first lesson is already too hard, she doesnt know all that stuff’’.
Just know that i showed him a book for first years in music theory class, and so i had no idea what to show him next.
Then, Mathew came in, just like the starman meme.
He showed the client the perfect book and the client was satisfied.
W Mathew for saving my ass.

When i ended my shift around 6pm, i got upstairs in the staff area and picked up my stuff.
I, by the way, choosed to take more sport centered shoes for the day and my feets didn’t feel like i walked 500 miles at the end of my shift, because yesterday i was wearing my brand new shoes and it felt like i walked bare foot the whole f**king world.

Tonight we eat pizza.

OH AND I ALMOST FORGOT TO SAY THIS FOR THOSE WAITING FOR THE NEWS (Like we are).
We still don’t have news for the file of protection…. We were supposed to get the answer today.
And we also don’t have news for the wifi box….

Anyway, thats my day.
