*old man voice* back in the day, When I was your age, you wouldn't believe how much those same exact people hated Russians. I mean they hated hated them. This was during the USSR days, and they wanted to nuke them. Literally. We would debate this in History class, and calmly like it was any old subject - should we or shouldn't we bomb them, first strike. Obliterate them before they could spread communism here.
But with the Southern Rednecks, it wasn't just a fear of communism, they were just enthralled with the idea of nuking somebody, at least them.
And yet here they are now, the same Rednecks and their sons, and they worship Russia, which is actually more dangerous now than it was then.
It's just so bizarre.
