Her husband had a car and there were multiple people like her seating In segregated areas to provke this reaction. The civil rights movement was trying to make segregation go away faster. It wasn’t sustainable

The civil rights movement didn't end racism. It just pushed it underground and closer to invisibility.

My big concern about how history books portray the civil rights movement is that Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King accomplished their goals by breaking the law. The main message: If you break a law that you feel is unjust, you're a hero. The implied afterthought: If you obey an unjust law, you're a coward.

Too many teenagers see laws as unjust when they're really not, or feel that breaking the law is the best or only way to prove themselves should their courage be doubted or questioned.
