My definition of msmg users based on joindates, as of December 2025

Shitgen (joined 2 or less months ago) - Anyone that joined directly after Sep 2025
Newgen (joined more than 2 months but less than 2 years ago) - Jan 2024 to Sep 2025
Midgen (joined more than 2 years but less than 4 years ago) - Dec 2021 to Dec 2023
Oldgen (joined over 4 years ago) - Anyone that joined directly before Dec 2021

Note that some of the first 2024 joindates will also become midgens in january

From 9 May 2020 to 1 June 2023 which is approximately how long MS_memer_group went without sitemods, that was 1118 days. From 1 June 2023 to 29 November 2025 which is how long MS_memer_group has now had sitemods, that was 2007 days. This means that roughly for the latter two thirds of the stream's existence we've had a sitemod-ruled stream. And for the average new user in msmg, it's difficult for them to see a MSmg which doesn't have sitemods.

I think that, whenever the msmg site comes about it, it will bring a third major era in MSmg, these being pre-Saucekuum, post-Saucekuum, and now full autonomy from the rest of Imgflip. 32 bit has said himself that he does not want to police speech and seems to have a laissez-faire approach when it comes to moderating content, which is quite a departure from how the top mods now treat MS_memer_group

Arguably,MSMGsite would cause slight issues refering to findability, due to it being a dofferent website in general, but the benefits so far outway the downsides by a ton,and im looking forward for its release.

A bigger analysis I made based on my time here.

Post-saucekuum (after May 2023) saw a gradual drop in oldgens with them either getting banned due to sitemod rules, quitting, or some form of both. Midgens like me were some of the last users to see a MS_memer_group ruled by users and not by sitemods.

In 2024, what were then newgens and are now midgens like me began to leave the stream too (most notably the user Lavender who was popular in 2023) similarly to how oldgens did, with them also becoming displeased. MS_memer_group's user numbers were considered to be at their worst around the first half of 2024 with the stream widely being considered as dying.

However in 2025 a significant amount of newgens joined this stream that appears to have kept fears of the stream dying at bay, although older users (as always), in some parts even me, have criticized them for causing degeneration in the stream's culture as a whole. Sexual posts on the stream (both serious and unserious) have grown severely in their frequency in posting, with it being a lot more normal than it was before the Saucekuum. This is basically the older users' biggest complaint with newgens.
