If Frankenstein didn’t just leave his creation and actually took responsibility by caring for His “monster” 90% of the book wouldn’t have happened. Actually such a real meme.

my dad put it this way and technically the creature is a "Frankenstein". While not biologically descended from him, the creature was still made by Victor Frankenstein and is technically a Frankenstein.

But yeah, Victor Frankenstein being the monster is very much correct. Literally the entire book is his fault. Read it last year in English class (followed it up with 1984 and later Moby-Dick, the latter of which is now one of my favorite books because despite rambling about whales for half the book, Herman Melville still made a genuinely funny book that also had a really good plot for something that is literally just about whales).

Frankenstein not caring for his creation is a witty commentary on both humanity and religion.
