they're not supposed to hate anyone, but they're also not supposed to encourage sin. In todays frail society, this is seen as 'hate'

most lgbtq members aren't even religious so telling them to not be gay anyway would be like me saying you should stop eating pork or drinking alcohol because it's a sin for me.

well, ideally christians preach only the love of God, and not the sins of the people. If someone truly wants to be saved they will reject their old ways through his love.

Why do so many modern Christians think that they shouldn't tell people that sin is bad and that they shouldn't do it and that if they are doing it they should stop.

it's not wrong to tell them it's bad, it's a matter of overdoing it in my opinion. people don't wanna hear about all the things they're doing wrong, it makes them shy away. it's human nature, people don't want to admit they're wrong. love on the other hand, love changes hearts
