Actually with AOC and Pelosi and Schumer the trick was gaining enough political power or clout that the DNC -- with the backing of corrupt RINOs -- would instantly halt any meaningful efforts to investigate them for serious wrongdoing.
It's KNOWN, for instance, that Nancy Pelosi has practiced insider trading for decades, but she's 'too important' to ever wear prison orange . . . and that's the real leftist trick. Upvoted.
