Adults can barely behave themselves on social media nevermind kids. Social media in general needs better moderation. | If I ever have kids they won't be allowed social media access until their 18. And no unfiltered internet until they're 16. No Tiktok, Facebook, X (Twitter), discord or YouTube accounts at all. And no ultra violent video games unless they're mature enough. Plus children cyber bully each other in horrific ways on social media and that's not good for anyone. The internet is a wonderful thing but it's also full of disgusting content, dangerous people and other bad things that children are vulnerable to and can have their developing brains altered and leave them traumatised. If I caught my kids with social media then I take away their smartphone and give them the old flip phones I grew up with that didn't have internet access. You see this sounds perfect on paper until you try to figure out the logistics of making sure each parent follows this

The parents should be fined or forced to attend parenting meetings by court order if they allow their children access to social media. That's the incentive for parents to actually protect their children from harm online.

Verifying your age should be a requirement to access certain parts of the internet to stop children and other vulnerable people from being manipulated or exploited by predators and trolls online.

Social media is just a breeding ground for devision and extremists and it needs to be better moderated to prevent harm to people.
