The Shade Organization was searching for ancient texts that depicted a shadow ritual, which involved sacrificing your own life. After scouring galaxies for a decade, Shade had found the texts. Mr Skull, Shade’s leader at the time, had volunteered to be the first subject, but the outcome was not expected at all. After the ritual, Mr Skull had been reborn as a pure, fully dark entity, at the cost of his humanity.
His outline was rough, with jagged edges, his eyes almost appeared to be leaking onto his face. As he talked, his voice was distorted, crackly, harmonic, in its own twisted way. They called it the Ritual of Gloom, or Ritual of Darkness.
