The Collector is holding a small child and slowly pacing around the library, his now old and frail body gives him pain as he walks around, but doesn’t feel any of it when interacting with his grandchild. The Collector starts talking to the child

“Which books should we read today?” He says with a smile

“Maybe he’s a little young for these types of books, Dad?” Inkmatas states as she enters the library

The Collector turns around.

“Nonsense, you were never to young to start!” The Collector replies, “When you were, 17, when I adopted you, it was a struggle to keep you from reading all the books immediately!”

Inkmatas walks over and take her adopted child from his hands gently.

“Dad, this is a little different!” Inkmatas playfully says, “What are you doing back here, you haven’t locked yourself up in this library for years!”

“It’s been great helping you, Nova, and the other heroes rebuilding societies, solidifying peace treaties, and keeping the great blockade up but now that you have your great treasure here I felt a desire to relive my younger days and share this knowledge with you and your growing family.” The Collectors sighs with a bit of nostalgia

“Dad there will be plenty of time for that and get out of this library and meet back up with Hakai and the delegates from Inkversian mainland and discuss the policies of the new Prime Minister.” Inkmatas explains

The Collector thinks to himself that he never saw himself as a politician before but working with his adopted daughter all these years has brought just as much peace and tranquility to the multiverse as all of his years of divine crusades and fighting ever did. The Collector starts to feel an old, familiar presence forming in the room. The Collector pauses and pats his daughter on the back.

“Inkie, I’ll join you in a second but there is something I need to take care of first.” The Collector tells Inkmatas

“Okay but don’t take too long, you’re needed in the meeting.” Inkmatas says with an uneasy tone

The Collector closes the door to the library and turns around. Creatie enters the library from a portal, she looks on the Collector, and greets him with a smile.

“It’s good seeing you again, old friend.” Creatie greets the Collector

“Goddess, I’m honored you visited me once again, but it’s a long while.” The Collector greets back

“To me, it has felt like a few moments, its good to see you’ve begun to learn some patience my child.” Creatie states

“Goddess, as honored as I am by your presence, why have you returned?” The Collector Creatie, “I had the impression that you gave up on me.”

“Of course not, I saw your last outburst as an momentary elapse of control.” Creatie replies

“Her arrogance hasn’t changed a bit since last conversation.” The Collector thinks to himself

“Is there something you request of me, Goddess?” The Collector states

“I bring good news!” Creatie proudly states, “We have the time to neutralize Xethos is at hand.”

“The time is at hand? The time has been the last 25 years of my life trying to stop Xerxes and when that failed, contain the calamity that is Xethos. You started me on this quest when you sent myself and the heroes to first fight him with no chance of victory!” The Collector states, “I’ve lost my connection to the creation stone, my body has been shattered multiple times, and countless people died defending their own planets from his ‘balance’ while you did nothing but watched, and now is the time?!?! Now that we have had the creature contained and successfully brought peace and undid all the damage he wrought to thousands of worlds. You want to get involved now?” The Collector states while trying to hold his composure

Creatie’s smile slips away

“Child this was the only way and time for us to act. I assume you tried to read up upon the stones and their ‘history’ since you correctly referred to the creature as ‘Xethos’. Then you know why it took this amount of time to respond to this threat.” Creatie explains

The Collector with a puzzling look on his face, sits down at a desk, and says

“My Goddess, I do not.”

“Understandable, my Child, you read the history of the stones from the mortal’s point of view. Let me fill in the rest.” Creatie says as she goes to sit down next to him

“In the beginning, there was nothing, no single universe, no time, just a void of nothingness. To end the nothingness, the original creator filled the void. His essence started everything, your scientists refer to it as ‘the Big Bang’ it was less of a bang but more of his essence expanding out extraordinarily rapidly. The core parts of him take the shape of 6 all-powerful stones. The particles of his body form what you call, the Space stone, the initiation of the cycle of life and death became the stone of Creation and Destruction. His vision of all the wavelengths become what you call the Matierlallite stone, his wisdom become the Mind stone, and his inner truth of his heart and soul became the Soulsborne Geode. These 6 stones dispersed themselves across the virgin multiverse, time began to pass, reality and life take shape, but sometimes the stones tried to come back together, when the stones become conscious, they try to reunite and become the Creator once again. For this to happen, the stones require a vessel strong enough to enact their wills. We call these vessels Xethos, when Xethos reappears in the multiverse, it’s goal is to link back all the stones to commit one goal. When all 6 stones are reunited, the explosion of energy that occurs annihilates everything and the void would be born anew. The Creator is reborn and the cycle restarts. This has happened more times than my knowledge can comprehend-“ Creatie gets interrupted

“So when Xerxes first appeared and it became clear he was trying to reunite the stones based on their will, why didn’t you stop him immediately. Did you note care if this multiverse was reset?!” The Collector interrupts

“Of course I cared but it is never that simple. Let me explain what happened in this multiverse.” Creatie butts in

When this multiverse’s cycle started, the stones did what they always done in the past and spread across the not-so-virgin multiverse. But as the stones have been doing this cycle many of times, the stones have learned to pair off to keep themselves from becoming lonely, or as lonely as a coalescence of a cosmic entity can be. The stones have been pairing off and makings relationships the last few cycles. Creation and Destruction seem to form a strong sibling relationship, The Mind Garnet and the Soulsborne Geode form a deep, passionate relationship as they argue over the values of wisdom versus inner truth of the soul, while the Space stone and the Materiallite quartz have a more light relation as particles and waves chase each other as they bounce between each other throughout the heavens. So these relationships kept growing each cycle until this current one. The Space stone, being tired of the Materiallite’s flighty nature, became envious of the Mind Garnet and Soulsborne Geode’s deep passionate relationship. It wished to have a stronger connection, and so while the Soulsborne Geode was occupied, it’s vessel went and seduced the vessel containing the Mind Garnet. The Mind Garnet, also wishing for a different relationship, leapt at the offer. The Space stone and The Mind Garnet vessels arrived at what to be called Nammu and started a new civilization there, predating all other forms of intelligent life.

The Soulsborne Geode, having been spurred by its lover, retreated into isolation while the Materiallite Quartz raged and corrupted its vessel, demanding retribution, and tried to become another Xethos to reset the cycle once again. This is where my brother and I were chosen by the creation and destruction stones to not just keep the cycle of life and death but also to find vessels to were worthy of being a guardian of the stone to prevent reunification. The woman who was the vessel of the materiallite Quartz, whose will was as strong as any mortals, contained the rage of the stone long enough for the stone to be imprisoned where all of it’s wavelengths would be reflected and contained. The Soulsborne Geode given to a guardian who could resist the immense feelings of loneliness whose heart burned hard and bright. But for the Space stone and the Mind Garnet, their vessel had already laid down their stones, The Space stone was buried deep into the planet’s surface, not to be found, while the Mind Garnet was placed in the crowns of their rulers which enabled them to rule with wisdom for countless generations. The ancestors of the original stone vessels who were on Nammu, were blessed with extraordinarily long lives for mortals. One such individual on Nammu, showed not just strength and fighting prowess but an immense ability to heal himself. He fought his way up the ranks of their military, showing not just strength but also great ability and strategy, and caught the eye of the ruling queen at the time, Kosmas, wielder of the Mind Garnet felt an instant attraction to this soldier, she didn’t realize this but the soldier was a direct descendant of the space stone vessel. It was the Mind Garnet seeing her old lover, reincarnated. The soldier became the queen’s consort and helped bring a peaceful rule to the great planet of Nammu. This soldier was Xerxes.” Creatie explained to the Collector

“But this had to have taken place millions of years ago?!” The Collector questions, “How is he here now and what happened to Kosmas and the Mind Garnet?!”

“For reason we do not know, he tried to kill her, and succeeded in poisoning her, given his abilities and his incredibly long life, we knew the people of Nammu could not stop him. We believe he would try to unite the Mind Garnet with the Space stone and start the Xethos process again. So using lots of his hair and his young nephew who was also blessed with long life and a strong sense of justice, The warden and lord of the dead, Xorus, came up with a way to imprisoning to prevent him from reuniting the stones and as justice for murder of his queen, his kin, and the people of Nammu.” Creatie explains.

“Why would he kill his own queen, this also doesn’t explain how he made it to our time, are you suggesting he survived that long in your prison, and still be youthful?!” The Collectors questions Creatie.

“It seems we underestimated him greatly. His extraordinary will and unique linage afforded him the ability to retain his youth inside that prison for all those years unlike his imprisoner who died of extraordinarily old age, it seems that Xerxes was essentially the same even after imprisonment. It was surprising enough that I did not even recognize him until he fused with the space stone in our first encounter, I thought he was another power seeking usurper with the strange gauntlet he showed up with.” Creatie explains further to the Collector

“But this still doesn’t make any sense, how could have he found the space stone after his imprisonment, and if he did kill the queen, why did he not just take the Mind Garnet afterwards if he was trying to reunite the stones whether for his own ‘balance’ or for the stone’s own will?” The Collector rebuts.

“We’re not sure but even if he did, the steps we needed to take were the same!” Creatie finishes

“What steps do you mean?” The Collector asks

“Do not worry about it, all we need to do is to prepare for the creature’s imprisonment.” Creatie says

The Collector takes a deep breath and sighs

“Okay, how can I help, my Goddess?”

“All you need to do is come with me for now.” Creatie says

“I can join you shortly, let me tie up some loose ends here.” The Collectors says as he gets up and begins to leave the room and asks

“So wait, why don’t the other guardians fall victim to their stone’s will.” The Collector asks

“The true responsibility of a guardian is to keep their stones from regaining consciousness by using them as little as possible, the discipline responsible for having neigh limitless power but refuse to use is a hard responsibility even when your most ardent disciples question your inaction.” Creatie reflects

“I understand.” The Collector responds

“I refuse to believe that responsibility is to sit back and let people suffer” The Collector thinks to himself as he leaves the room

Soon the Collector enters a discussion room right before going into the PM’s waiting room where he sees Inkmatas waiting for him.

“Where were you, we were about to start?” Inkmatas ask

“Apologizes my daughter, I will not be able to join you, unfortunately” The Collector sighs

“Why not, what did she want?” Inkmatas asks

“How did you know it was the Goddess?” The Collector questions

“I can sense the same stuff you can.” Inkmatas replies, “So she’s going to send you on another fools errand I assume? You worked so hard with us for so long without needing her, proving us ‘mere mortals’ can tackle the hardest of problems as long as we do it together, and you were a giant part of that so please don’t throw all of it away to chase that arrogant Goddess.”

“Unfortunately, I have to.” The Collector sighs again, “But fear not though because this will be the last time I anything for her.”

“Please repent from her faith, it is never truly rewarded.” Inkmatas pleads to the Collector

The Collector nods and gives Inkmatas a huge hug before exiting the waiting room.
