This was probably too last minute, and most of the followers of this stream don't check it daily, or even weekly.

Yeah, I agree. But...there's always a next time. Maybe someone could recommend a movie that we all watch.

I loved it, like I expected. The animated corpse near the beginning was disturbing. And he gets the novel in that Victor is the villain of the story. I also could see the influence of the 1930s Frankenstein films.

I've watched it...and the making of it documentary. Did I miss something? When/how did Victor lose his leg?! All of a sudden he had a prosthetic.

The fiery explosion that blew him away from the doorway to the tower. They showed his gruesomely mangled leg immediately after.

Oh!!!! I saw the explosion but not his leg. Thank you for explaining. It was driving me nuts.
I really liked the story. I liked the monster (but my favorite is still the one from Penny Dreadful).
Christoph Waltz could act in anything and I'd watch it. He had such a short-lived role 🙁
Oscar Isaac is always too much Oscar Isaac & never truly convincing in character. But...that might be the point in casting him. He was a bit forgettable while Jacob Elordi is worth learning his name.& face. I hope to see more of him. The characters who made the story a story were Elizabeth and the Captain. I wanted to know more about them. In the documentary of how they filmed it, del Toro said he hopes to be less predictable, less safe in the future. To me, that's how it felt...too safe. I really think Penny Dreadful and Crimson Peak have kept the bar very high.

I loved the visuals (such as the practical effects), music, and acting. My favorite Victor and Creature is still on Penny Dreadful. And I've always somewhat liked Kenneth Branagh and Robert De Niro's 1994 movie. Also, have you seen Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities on Netflix? He talks just before each episode (short film), and they're not directed by him, but he cowrote 2 of them.

Did you watch the documentary on how they filmed it? They explained their use of color and visuals. Del Toro is a visual artist, for sure. I think that's why I especially like his films. And, like other great directors, he uses the same actors in his films which I like. I started watch Cabinet of Curiosities last time...don't remember them, however. Now that I've renewed Netflix I'll check them out again. Even if I only watch the two he wrote. Thanks for

Haven't seen it yet. I love his style and philosophy, and his dark-fantasy meets science fiction approach to horror.

There are a few movies worth watching "the making of" and this is one of them because it helps tie loose ends together and it's interesting how his artistic brain works out details that hit us subliminally.

I agree about the animated corpse being disturbing! It was trying to set the tone. But then...well, it became too tame.
