Trump doesn't control Congress, buddy. Also, there are 5 democrats in Congress that voted to keep the government shut down (mind you, we need 60 votes to reopen, and there were 53 republicans and only 2 democrats that voted to reopen).
Yet in an unexpected twist, Trump took responsibility for it.

Well, that certainly wasn't on my government shutdown bingo card. Yet again, I'm glad he's being the bigger man about it and taking responsibility for the government's folly.
A message to all trump supporters who use food stamps; While this administration was taking away your ability to have enough food to eat, the president you voted for was throwing a lavish party at his Florida estate for all of his wealthy friends; What will it take for you to realize he doesn't care about you?
