Hate to put it bluntly, but it could have gotten run over. Best case scenario is that someone just found your cat and thought it was a stray and took it in.

My current outdoor cat has disappeared a few times before then just randomly showed back up, so the same might happen. I do also have a cat that was run over by a car. Just hope and pray that your cat is alright. I know what it feels like.
