CHAPTER 1: BROKEN TRUST
Inkmatas runs into the room hearing the Collector yelling. She sees the Collector slouches back in his seat.
“Father, are you okay!?” Inkmatas worries
“NOTHING BUT LIES AND PROPAGANDA. HE MURDERED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS OF SOLDIERS AND DEFENDERS OF THEIR PLANET TO ENFORCE HIS TYRANY UPON THE INNOCENT!” The Collectors screams
“Father, you know he never attacks first, and he freed how many people from corporate slavery?” Inkmatas sighs
“AFTER HE MURDERED THE ELECTED LEADERS OF THE CORPERATION AND THE LEADERS ON THOSE PLANETS!” The Collector yelled, “JUST BECAUSE I DIDN’T AGREE WITH THEIR LEADERSHIP DOESN’T MEAN THEY HAD THE RIGHT TO BE OBLITERATED”
With the argument heating up, Hakai lumbers into the room just as the Collector accuses the witch.
“You’re only on his side because he GOT to you!” The Collector retorts
“HE NEVER USED THE GEODE ON ME, ALL HE DID WAS ALLOW ME TO SEE HIS TRUE INTENTIONS!” Inkmatas yells back
“Listen I don’t agree with his methods but you have to admit him getting rid of Tinted Earth has done nothing provide prosperity to the masses.” Hakai states, “It’s not like he was occupying any planets or systems”
The Collector turns to his second adopted daughter with shock and anger.
“YOU COULDN’T DEFEAT HIM IN YOUR PRIME AND NOW YOUR IN WORSE CONDITION!!” Inkmatas snaps, “HAVE YOU EVEN RECOVERED FROM THE LAST FIGHT YET!?”
“I COULD EFFORTLESSLY DEFEAT HIM IF I HAD GODDESSES’S BLESSING!!” The Collector claims
“I’M NOT THE SAME I WAS BEFORE. I WILL NOT LET YOU FIGHT HIM AGAIN!” Inkmatas screams as her eyes explode in a yellow-green glare
Inkmatas pauses and takes a deep breath, she looks down at the floor, and them storms away without saying another word.
“Father, there are some battles even you cannot win” Hakai reasons, “You have destroyed empires, ended wars, saved millions, and helped bring order to gods. People still view you as a hero but if you go after Xerxes, you’ll either become history’s villain or you’ll just be killed.”
“That’s a sacrifice I can only make for the true greater good!” The Collectors responds
“You’ll never change, dad” Hakai sighs and walks away.
The Collector sits back down and emotionally exhales.
“His must have a weakness, everyone has a weakness” The Collector groans
