it's not slavery if they are getting paid but yeah it still feels wrong

the entire reason for illegal immigrant labor is so you don't have to pay them minimum wage and employer taxes on labor

my idea is that instead of deporting them right away we deport the violent criminals and the rest we give an option to become a citizen and pay taxes if they refuse they get deported and cannot return for a decade. Harsh but fair. Tell me your thoughts

that's exactly what is happening. For decades, Republican party has offered amendments to immigration bills for illegals to pay back taxes and get legal work visas, but Democrats always vote "No", because they want open borders. During Trump's 1st term, when Democrats were whining about Trump's wall, the Dems said they wanted to allow 750K illegals to become citizens. Trump eventually offered 1.5 million illegals to become citizens, but Chuck Schumer turned it down.

well, in short DACA was Obama's "Dreamers" act, Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. The DACA bill wasn't passed during Obama's last term, but during Trump's 1st term, the Democrats made this a big issue for illegal immigrant as a way for illegal immigrant children to be allowed in the U.S. even though their parents were not with them or didn't make it across the border. During the back and forth debate, the Democrats were demanding 750K illegal immigrant children be allowed to stay in the U.S. Eventually, Trump offered to double the amount to 1.5 million illegal immigrant children that could stay, but the Democrats refused to pass the bill. Trump basically exposed that the Democrats didn't really want to stop the flood of illegal immigrants.
