As opposed to the Biden and Obama administrations which never brokered any peace deals among foreign nations.

So called far left supporters and protests are rooted in neo Marxist, cultural Marxist, post modernism, post colonial, identity politics, anti authority. The doctrine is rejection of logic and argument in favour of ‘feelings’. It in effect encourages recourse to change by force.

Look at say ‘ANTIFA’ and their actions. Far left protests are often labelled as anti far right in the mainstream media, thus generating the impression that the far left is not a problem, but that it is the so called far right.

The protesters behind far left protests are often university and union based and younger from my experience. The neo marxist ideology seems to generate a very aggressive, hive mind mentality. Many so called far right supporters and protests are not in effect far right, just right of far left.

They are often social conservatives with a small ‘c’, who do not want to see a negative change to society, or allow perceived threats. So a protest against illegal immigration or the adverse effects if islam, becomes defined as far right by the far left leaning media.

People accept the narrative from mainstream media. Many so called far right protesters are often older, non politically motivate people, without a hive mind in my experience. Now there are actual far right protests, often dominated by younger males, but they are in fact quite rare. Very few right wing protests are actual far right motivated.

And so, you know, again, I don’t want to be drawn into a hard yes or no. What I want is for us all to identify the problem and work together as a whole of government to solve the problem.”

Schmautz said that the Portland Police Bureau is “horrifically understaffed,” at a time when some local leaders, he said, aren’t supporting police.

“There is a lot, I mean, of just open, very, very anti-police rhetoric in our city council meetings,” he said.

“We are still working our way out of a significant, you know, burst, or an expansion in our crime profile. I mean, we have, you know, our homicides went up, times five from 2020 to 2023, and we’re kind of slowly receding, although we’ve had nine last month,” he said.

The union president expressed sympathy for the fear felt by federal law enforcement after constant attacks.

“I am extraordinarily sympathetic to how concerned and afraid federal officers – I mean, there was a shooting in Dallas at an ICE facility. There are federal officers being hit by cars. And, you know, in a world where we have different perspectives about politics, it’s one thing to have policy discussions and everything else. But no one should be OK with violence directed at anyone,” Schmautz said.
